Remove the Oil Sending Connector on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the right side of the engine block, behind the distributor. The unit will be bolted directly into the block, and will have a small wiring connector attached to it.

Uncle the wiring connector from the oil pressure unit. Pull the connector straight backwards to remove the wire from the sensor.

Turn the oil pressure sending unit counterclockwise, using the appropriate sized open-end wrench. Continue turning the unit counterclockwise until it is free from the vehicle.
